What happens after you find someone?
Finding her is the easy half. These are the six steps between "I like this profile" and her first day.
Shortlist 3–5
Save the profiles that fit. Plan to speak with several — the first one you like is rarely the one you hire.

Interview — in person if you can
Ask to see her passport and visa page. Cover:
- Duties and what is not included
- Working hours and days off
- Salary
- Live-in room, or the commute for live-out
- How she handles children
- House rules
Run a paid trial — as many as you need
Most families trial for 1–2 weeks. Pay her for the days worked (monthly salary ÷ 30 per day is the norm). Didn't work out? Trial the next candidate. Trials and replacements are unlimited while your access lasts — there is no extra fee.
Agree the terms in writing
Salary, hours, days off, accommodation, notice period, start date — one page, both of you keep a copy.
Ready to hire? Sort the visa
